Updated Super Bowl 50 Futures, Eagles Move Up
The 2015 NFL season starts Thursday and sportsbooks have released their most recent Super Bowl 50 futures for bettors to looks over.
The Deflategate saga looks to have come to an end and Tom Brady will start for the New England Patriots on Thursday.
Both sportsbooks and bettors alike have been bearish of late on the Philadelphia Eagles up-tempo offense as it looks like coach Chip Kelly has his Eagles in top form heading to the opening game of the season.
The Eagles were 3-1 on the preseason outscoring their opponents by a combined 133-77.
The Eagles are now 8 to 1 to win Super Bowl 50 after dropping as low as 20 to 1 in August. Nevertheless, the Eagles still are only tied for the fourth shortest odds to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Odds makers still have Seattle at the top at 9 to 2, while Green Bay dropped slightly to 6 to 1 after the injury to wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
Some new money came in late last week on New England, which shortened their odds to 8 to 1 from 10 to 1.
The odds for the Week 1 games for the Patriots against Pittsburgh jumped from New England -3 to New England -7 after the suspension against Brady was nullified.
The NFC is the current favorite to win the Super Bowl in February at -130 by a point spread of -2 ½.
New England has seen its odds shortened to win the AFC Championship to 3 to 1 moving them to just behind the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are also ahead of the Patriots for Super Bowl odds at 7 to 1.
